View Engineering Inc. recently acquired Micro-Metric Inc., a manufacturer of high-precision noncontact dimensional and coordinate metrology systems. View Engineering provides high-accuracy, large-area video, and laser-based and coordinate measuring systems for process monitoring and control in the data storage, microelectronics, printed circuit and precision machining industries. The acquisition strengthens both companies, allowing Micro-Metric to expand its sales and marketing capabilities worldwide.

No changes in management or staffing of either company are planned. Micro-Metric will continue to operate its engineering, manufacturing, marketing and applications support activities from its headquarters in San Jose, California.

View has technological depth as well as an established worldwide support organization.
