One of the oldest chapters of the Association for Operations Management (APICS) and the Harrington Institute recently made a formal agreement to offer Six Sigma, process improvement and project management certification to APICS members around the world. Founded in 1960, the Golden Gate Chapter of APICS is the oldest of the organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. Its members come from more than 300 major companies represented in the Bay Area. The agreement will exclusively allow Quality Digest columnist and Harrington Institute CEO H. James Harrington to provide the valuable training to APICS members. In addition, Harrington will be appointed to the chapter’s board of directors. He’s been an advisor to the chapter since January 2004.

“This relationship has deep implications in that on an international basis, the Golden Gate Chapter represents the Harrington Institute Body of Knowledge to the APICS community,” Harrington says. “It’s exciting to see the APICS Golden Gate Chapter focus on quality and project management to optimize the excellence of their client companies.”
